There are instances when someone can be interviewed formally other than at a police station, for example where is an investigation being conducted by the Department for Work and Pensions or even Trading Standards. We offer representation to anyone who is to be interviewed under caution and this can be done under the Legal Aid Scheme or on a private fee paying basis.

Everyone is entitled to be represented by a solicitor for such interviews and our solicitors have a great deal of experience in this area. In light of the recent proposals for changes in the way that people who are accused of benefit fraud are to be dealt with, it is even more essential that representation is secured. Although the interviews are not conducted at a police station, we understand that they can nonetheless be extremely stressful but our Criminal Defence team can assist at all stages of the investigation to ensure that the procedure is fully explained and to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved.
